Getting Ready for Christmas.....
How on earth is it nearly Christmas again?!
It seems like only yesterday we were enjoying the summer sunshine, and all of a sudden the days are getting shorter, the shops are filling up with Christmas goodies, festive adverts are appearing everywhere, Xmas songs are creeping onto our playlists… and there’s that familiar feeling that we really ought to start getting organised!
I don’t know about you, but Christmas seems to come around quicker every year. And whilst I absolutely love the festive season, there’s no denying that getting ready for it can be a little overwhelming. There’s so much to think about, so much to do, and somehow never quite enough time to do it all!
The most wonderful time of the year?
Christmas is full of little traditions, familiar comforts and things we look forward to every year. From decorating the tree and wrapping presents to planning festive get-togethers and deciding what goodies to have on the Christmas menu, there’s something rather lovely about all the preparation.
Of course, it can also be a little chaotic! Lists get longer, time seems to disappear, and just when you think you’re getting organised, you remember something else you need to do.
But amongst all the hustle and bustle, I think it’s worth remembering what makes Christmas special in the first place.
It’s about the people we love, the little traditions we look forward to, the time we spend together, and those thoughtful touches that make the festive season feel special.
Thoughtful gifts don't have to be complicated
One of my favourite things about Christmas is choosing gifts for people. I love the idea of finding something that feels just right for someone — perhaps something that reflects their personality, fits their interests, or simply makes them smile.
Sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to find the perfect present, when often it’s the little things that mean the most.
A gift might remind someone of a shared memory, be a little treat they wouldn’t normally buy themselves, or simply be something you spotted and immediately thought, “Oh, that would be perfect for them!”
Handmade gifts can be particularly lovely because someone has taken the time to find or create something a little different, rather than simply picked up another mass-produced item from a shelf.
Here at Mixarray, we love creating pieces that make everyday moments feel a little more special — whether that’s a decorative item for the home, a thoughtful little gift, or something that brings a smile to someone’s face.
There’s something rather lovely about giving a gift that feels a little different, especially when it’s been chosen with a particular person in mind.
A little Christmas inspiration from Mixarray
If you’re starting to think about your Christmas shopping, you might find a little inspiration here on the Mixarray website!
There are plenty of festive goodies to explore, including tree decorations, tealights, coasters, mugs, candle holders and cards — all with a Christmassy theme to bring a little seasonal magic into the home.
And if full-on festive isn't quite your thing, don't worry! There are plenty of other designs and gift ideas to browse through, too.
Whether you're shopping for someone who loves all things Christmas or someone who prefers something a little more ‘everyday’, you might just find that perfect little something you've been looking for.
After all, not every Christmas gift needs to feature a snowman, a reindeer or a sprig of holly! 😂
And if you prefer to do your shopping in person, great!! We will be at a couple of local Christmas Craft Fayres in the coming weeks:
· Smith’s Garden Centre, Baginton CV8 3BA on Saturday 21st & 22nd November 10am - 3pm
· Priory Theatre, Kenilworth CV8 1BN on Friday 27th November 6.30pm - 9pm
So please, come & say ‘Hello!’ We’d love to see you!
Remember to enjoy the run-up to Christmas
It’s so easy to get caught up in everything we think we should be doing that we forget to enjoy the season itself.
You don't need a perfectly decorated home, an enormous pile of presents or a table laden with food to have a wonderful Christmas.
Sometimes, the best moments are the simplest ones: a favourite Christmas film, a cosy evening with a cuppa, twinkling lights on a dark evening, spending time with people you haven't seen for a while, and that one perfect gift!
So, whilst I’ll undoubtedly be making lists, creating new things and trying to get everything organised, I’m also reminding myself to slow down occasionally, enjoy the little things, seek out meaningful gifts, and make time for the moments that really matter.
And if I manage to get everything done without a last-minute panic, well… that would be a Christmas miracle in itself!
Over to you…
Are you an organised Christmas planner who has everything sorted by November, or are you more of a last-minute shopper who thrives on a little festive panic?
I'd love to know which camp you fall into!
Until next time… here's to a festive season filled with thoughtful gifts, happy memories and plenty of Christmas magic. 🎄
